These six short melodies are easily within reach of junior high students and are a good introduction to chamber ensemble playing. Balance and intonation are easily taught as instruments play in pairs, threes, fours as well as all five. Rest counting is included as too many young players are not very adept at this musical task. A variety of keys and meters should keep the student's interest with a ltittle humor thrown in for good measure. Includes: KABALEVSKY: Old Dance; MCBRIDE: Stray Cat; BARTOK: Adagio; Piano Pieces vol. 2; TCHAIKOWSKY: Twighlight; The Duck Swims on the Sea.
