Romantic period. Belgian composer. A violinist, Jean-Baptiste Singelee composed several works for the saxophone. This work contains moderate technical challenges for the most part, but does allow each instrument to display finger dexterity with sweepingsixteenth note runs, most of which are in slurred passages. Tuneful and filled with dynamic detailing to encourage expressive playing. The printing of this edition is particulary readable and will help students feel more comfortable with some of the more technical sections. -pc
