Can be performed with harp or piano; Narration not included. Debussy composed this incidental music to accompany Pierre Louys' poems entitled "Chansons de Bilitis." It was originally written for two flutes, two harps and a celesta and then was arrangedfor four-hand piano by the composer. Typical of Debussy, this piece is full of rubato and expressive sixteenth-note runs, giving the mature musician the freedom to interpret every phrase. -AP
