Adagio, from Gran Partita, K.361 (Thorne) [ESSSSABB or ESSSSSBB]
Classical. The natural follow-up to the First Menuetto is the Adagio, the third movement of the Gran Partita. The Adagio was heard at a pivotal moment in the film Amadeus, which scene was later parodied in an episode of How I Met Your Mother, and it has been used to effect in West Wing. The Adagio features a synchopated pulse, with the melodic lines appearing alternately among the different clarinets. For intermediate to advanced performers. -the publisher
