The Tyrell is a standard in the tuba study repertoire. Comprised of 40 etudes, mostly in the flat keys, this book is commonly used for first and second year college level players to develop quick facility in the standard range of the tuba. Also an excellent tool for the bass trombonist, as the tessitura lies on or below the staff throughout. The etudes are easily transposed at sight to their respective sharp keys for an additional challenge. -cdp
