    Nocturn (Johansen)

The Nocturne for Trombone and Organ by Alfred Hildebrandt Sorensen was most likely written while he studied violin and composition at the Copenhagen Conservatory of Music from 1903-1905. It was dedicated to trombonist Anton Hansen, who performed it for the first time at the Tivoli Concert Hall on August 8th, 1918, and then at the King's Garden at the Copenhagen Municipality's Free Concerts, undoubtedly in arrangements for symphony orchestra and wind band respectively.

This very work, edited by Niels-Ole Bo Johansen, is suitable for intermediate performers as it is all in bass clef and of modest technique and range. - the publisher
