Romantic period. Matteo Carcassi (c. 1793-1853) was an Italian guitarist who spent much of his life in Paris. This set of studies, 25 Etudes Melodiques Progressives, op. 60, is perhaps his most famous work and has been known to generations of guitarists.
This edition is newly established from the original editions of Carcassi's time. The fingering is that of those original editions and no new fingering has been added. Notes on technique and interpretation are provided. - publisher
