Hungarian Melodies (1927) (Brasch) [treble or bass clef]
Transcribed from the original for trumpet, these are Vincent Bach's (of Bach trumpet fame) long unavailable Hungarian Melodies. Originally published in 1923, the composer and soon-to-be world famous instrument and mouthpiece maker was already a former player in the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Metropolitan Opera Orchestra. A bravura piece that uses all kinds of Magyar licks, flashy cadenzas and virtuoso passages. Chosen as a selection for the 2007-08 Leonard Falcone competition (artist preliminary round).
