Responding to the need for quality recital music for the euphonium, ASCAP award winning composer, Dr. David Uber has composed this work for euphonium and piano in traditional sonata format, departing in the final section to a theme of march-like character. The first section is brisk and contains rapid sixteenth note patterns that require clean articulation. The second section is lyrical and demands the utmost expressive interpretation. The use of vibrato is effective here. The numerous interchanges of the solo part with the piano accompaniment should receive special attention.
