20th Century. Each player alternates narrating texts to the music of the remaining ensemble players. Texts are by Rhoda Levine and depict different experiences of a chicken, fawn, mouse and two tomcats. These texts certainly are not meant for children, as the first movement tells the sad story of the chicken: "The fox took a chicken out on the floor. Poor silly chick didn't know the score...She never noticed when the light went out..." Score sold separately as item #21932. Clarinet in Bb. -AP
