Romantic. Franz Liszt's Les Preludes was first premiered in 1854 and is the most popular of his thirteen tone poems. The work is mysterious, lyrical and heroic...a perfect vehicle for an arrangement for tuba-euphonium ensemble. Randall Malmstrom's arrangement for advanced performers is about 7-1/2 minutes in length. It is a great piece of music to perform and to listen to. Parts are all in bass clef. Parts are labeled for 4 euphoniums, 2 F tubas and 2 CC trubas. Both F tuba parts can be readily performed on euphonium, and only the two CC parts require a tuba. Therefore ensembles formations 4E+4T, 5E+3T and 6E+2T are possible. -the publisher/cdp
