Baroque. Bach's Fugue a la Gigue BWV 577 is an organ fugue originally in the key of G and was first published 131 years after his death. Holst's famous arrangement of it for Military Band from 1928 has inspired many to continue the tradition of scoring the work for a variety of instrumental ensembles.
Ralph Sauer's transcription of the 3-minute Fugue a la Gigue (transposed to E-flat) is for 8-part trombone ensemble and is appropriate for advanced performers. -the publisher
