Late Romantic/20th Century. French composer. For six tenors and two basses in two antiphonal quartets. Originally written for solo organ, this popular piece presents a conversation between two contrasting ranks of pipes, or "Choeurs" on the organ. This transcription assigns choeurs to each of the two quartets, with the effect being a conversation between the two. In A flat major. Also known as "Grand Choir Dialogue." -cdp
