Baroque. Handel's Trio Sonata No. 1 Opus 5 was first published in 1739 for 2 violins, cello and continuo. The work is in sonata da chiesa style with four movements of slow-fast-slow-fast. Sonata No. 1 concludes with a cherry on top; an added surprise movement of a sprightly Gavotte. Mr. Sauer has arranged this delightful work for euphonium trio (part 3 may be played on tuba) of advanced performers. It is about 7 minutes in length. In bass clef. -the publisher
