20th Century (1986). In three movements, the Sonata for Baritone Horn (or Euphonium) is a dramatic and highly active work for both the pianist and the soloist. The piano part in particular is full of large jazz inspired chords with wonderfully thick harmonies. The baritone/euphonium part both soars above and dodges amongst the piano's vast chordal and rhythmic landscape. Solo parts provided in both bass and treble clefs. -the publisher
