Romantic. Waldteufel composed his beautiful Skater's Waltz in 1882, having been inspired by the "Cercle des Patineurs" or 'Rink of Skaters' at the Bois de Boulogne in Paris. The wonderfully orchestrated work is especially graceful, invoking scenes of winter and skaters falling to the ice. Angus Armstrong's very fine 8 minute arrangement is suitable for advanced performers and is scored for: Piccolo Trumpet in B-flat; C Trumpet & 2 Trumpets in B-flat; 2 Horns; 3 Trombones; Bass Trombone; Tuba; Timpani and Percussion. -the publisher
