Sonata, from Die Bankelsangerlieder (King) [211.01, 202.01 or 203.00]
Late Renaissance/Early Baroque. Attributed to Daniel Speer. A cornerstone in the literature, this piece is one of the most often performed arrangements for brass quintet. Memorable tune, moderate range, playable key, moderate technical challenges throughout the ensemble especially in upper four parts. Appropriate for concert performance, but also commonly used for ceremonial purposes (weddings, graduations, dedications, commissionings, etc.). Score & parts. -cdp/pc
