Renaissance. Number 13 (and the first Sonata) from the collection Canzoni et Sonate published 1615 in Venice. For 4 trumpets and 4 trombones set in two equal 4-part antiphonal choirs (202.00 vs. 202.00). In the original key. Rhythmic values have been halved from that of the original (e.g. Q-EE is now E-SS). Trumpet parts provided for Bb's. Upper trombone parts are in tenor clef, lower in bass. Horn parts are provided to sub the first trombone parts in each choir. A bass trombone is not required but is recommended for purposes of timbral balance. -cdp
