The Sigmund Hering 32 Etudes for Trombone have long been a staple in the study repertoire for the developing trombonist. Now, it has finally been adapted by William Stanley for bass trombonists by transposing it lower to new, comfortable registers. Theseexcellent progressive studies by Hering, presented in appropriate lower keys, fill an observed gap in the intermediate study repertory for the emerging bass trombonist. Additionally, these studies may well aid the tenor trombonist in development and facility as they approach the lower range of that instrument. -the publisher
