Taken from the horn repertoire, these twelve etudes explore sequence, leaps and rhythmic patterns in addition to many other aspects of playing. The tessitura of the etudes is generally a ledger or two below the staff to near top line A. Keys are C or various flat keys. Like the Tyrell etudes, they can easily be played in their associated sharp key by imagining a different signature (e.g. Bb to B, Eb to E, etc.). Most are on the long side, running an average of 20 lines over two pages. Appropriate forbass trombone or tuba.
