The 70 Studies of Blazhevich are perhaps one of the most important study books ever published for the tuba. The studies are clearly technical in nature, but unlike many standard etude books, there is also an implied emphasis on musical playing as well. Volume 2 contains numbers 43 through 70. Published for tuba, the overall tessitura of the music is "well below the staff" to "in the staff," making it an important part of the bass trombonist's library as well. --cdp
