Early 20th Century. Satie wrote the twenty movement Sports et Divertissement Suite in 1914, just before the outbreak of WWI. Originally written for piano, it is a humoristic and sardonic fusion of illustrations, music, prose poetry and calligraphy, the latter three provided by Satie. This 9-movement arrangement of the Suite by Charles Decker for standard brass quintet is 6 minutes in length and includes the original narration by Satie (translated into English). -the publisher
