Romantic. The Adagio Cantabile is the second movement of Beethoven's Sonata Pathetique for piano written in 1798. The movement is very expressive, it's melody being one of the most recognized of the Classical period, becoming the theme for over 37 years of an internationally famous classical music show as well as showing up in albums by Kiss and Billy Joel.
