Renaissance. These dances from the late 16th (all were composed within a 50 year period) and early 17th centuries were chosen specifically to show the variety of musical styles to be found during that time within the confines of only what was considered to be "dance" music. This musical diversity can be extremely helpful in keeping a two hour concert of brass music interesting to the listener. I have also allowed adequate rest for each instrument in specific movements and for that reason it is recommended that the dances be performed in their entirety. Score & parts. -the arranger
