Grand Choeur Dialogue (Thurlow) [211.01 w/organ & percussion]
Late Romantic/20th Century. French composer. Originally written for solo organ, this popular piece presents a conversation between two contrasting ranks of pipes, or "Choeurs" on the organ. This transcription effectively assigns the brass quintet one of the choeurs while the organ retains the other. The overall effect is a well integrated conversation between the organ and the brass. Includes optional tympani & percussion (triangle & cymbal) parts. This version in G major (concert key). French horn substitution part included for trombone in tenor clef. Tuba part can be played by bass trombone. Also known as Grand Choir Dialogue. -the publisher
