Contrapunctus 1, from Art of the Fugue, BWV.1080 (King) [211.01, 311.00 or 212.00]
Baroque. First movement (BWV 1080, Nr 1) of Bach's final opus. Originally written in 4-part SATB open score form, and now believed to have been intended for performance on the harpsichord. Contrapunctus I is an example of a simple 4-part fugue. This setting can be performed in a variety of quintet configurations, standard 211.01, 311.00 or 212.00. -cdp
