Ithaca is centrally isolated at the south end of Cayuga Lake in the beautiful Finger Lakes region of Central New York State. We are about an hour and a half drive southwest of Syracuse or about two hours southeast of Rochester. We are about 4½ hours northwest of New York City and an hour or less from Binghamton and other communities in the Southern Tier. You can reach Ithaca by Greyhound bus or airplane, with US Airways and Northwest Airlines servicing the area. Unfortunately there is no passenger rail service to Ithaca. You can even sail to Ithaca from the Atlantic Ocean via the inland waterways, however please allow extra time for travel.
Our store is at the corner of Dey (pronounced "DAY") and Adams Streets in the pleasant Fall Creek section of the city. We are housed in the old Ithaca Calendar Clock Building, a large white two and three story brick building built in 1875 (and rebuilt in one year later after a fire completely destroyed the original). We can be reached by the number 13 TCat bus, or by a short 12 to 15 minute walk from downtown. Parking is right outside the door and is plentiful and free at all times.
(I-90, I-81 or Route 13 from Syracuse, Cortland, Lansing or the Airport)
Take Route 13 south. Follow it all the way down the hill alongside the lake into the city of Ithaca. The first traffic light you reach is Dey Street. Turn left and drive about 200 yards to the intersection with Adams. We are located in the big white building on the left. Our front door faces the park. You can't miss the building because everything else in the area is a house.
(I-90, Route 89 or 96 from Rochester, Geneva or Trumansburg)
Take Route 89 or 96 south into Ithaca. Drive over the Cayuga Lake inlet bridge and into town until you reach the intersection with Route 13 NORTH (it's a one-way turn left). Turn left and drive about ½ to ¾ mile. The highway will become two way at Purity Ice Cream. Drive to the SECOND traffic light (Dey Street) after the highway becomes two-way. Turn right at the light (Dey Street is just past the Science Center). Go down Dey Street about 200 yards. Hickeys is located in the big white building on the left, and our front door faces the park. You can't miss the building because everything else in the area is a house.
(I-86, Route 17, 96 or 96B from Binghamton, Owego or Scranton, PA)
Take Route 96B north into Ithaca, past Ithaca College and down the hill. Later, do not turn left where the "96B" says to—keep going straight. Cross the bridge and pass the Commons (a pedestrial mall on your left). The road is now called Aurora Street. Go straight until you reach Tompkins Street (it's after Yates and Marshall Streets). Make a left on Tompkins and go to one block past the traffic light. At one block past the light, turn right. We are in the big white building, and our front door faces the park. You can't miss the building because everything else in the area is a house.
(I-86, Routes 13, 17, 34 or 96 from Elmira or Corning)
Take Route 13 north into Ithaca past Buttermilk Falls State Park, all the stores, car dealerships, restaurants, and gas stations. The highway will become one-way for about a mile, and then become two-way once again just past Purity Ice Cream. Drive to the SECOND traffic light after the highway becomes two-way (Dey Street) and turn right. This is right after the Science Center (you can't miss it on your right). Go down Dey Street about 200 yards. Hickey's is located in the big white building on the left. You can't miss the building because everything else in the area is a house. Our front door faces the park.
(I-81, Route 79, Syracuse, Binghamton, Whitney Point)
Take NY Route 79 west into Ithaca. Follow it down the hill into town until it comes to a "T" at Aurora Street (The Commons). Turn right onto Aurora Street. Drive until you reach Tompkins Street (it's after Yates and Marshall Streets). Make a left on Tompkins and go to one block *past* the traffic light. At one block past the light, turn right. We are in the big white building. You can't miss the building because everything else in the area is a house. Our front door faces the park.
(Routes 79, 89, 96, Watkins Glen, Ithaca Greyhound Bus Station)
Follow Route 79 into Ithaca.
Drive down Buffalo Street to the second traffic light in town (Tioga Street). Turn right on Tioga and go to the stop-sign at Tompkins. Go one block further to Lewis Street and turn left. Follow Lewis until it ends. Hickey's is in the big white building in front of you, our front door faces the park.
Exit via the front entrance of the college onto Route 96B and turn right towards town. Later, do not turn left where the "96B" says to—keep going straight. Cross the bridge and pass the Commons.
The route 13 TCAT bus route passes within just a few blocks of Hickey's location. This requires a transfer from the Route 11 bus serving Ithaca College. To get here, simply board the Route 11 bus in front of The Towers residence hall, Roy Park School, or at College Circle Apartments. The Route 11 bus goes downtown where you will want to transfer to the Route 13.
See complete Route 11 and 13 weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules at www.tcatbus.com or call 1-607-277-RIDE.
Enter Lower New York Bay from Raritan Bay. Sail up to Upper New York Bay and into the Hudson River (it's to the west of Manhattan Island). Sail the Hudson up to Waterford and enter the Erie Canal. Travel west on the Erie Canal, and then south onto Cayuga Lake. Sail Cayuga's 38 mile length (with a typically strong NW following wind) and tie up at Treman Marina. Catch a cab for the last few short blocks to Hickey's Music!
Warp your starship to Alpha Quadrant (Milky Way Galaxy). Navigate to the Sol system and orbit the third planet (we suggest a distant orbit in order to avoid space junk). Our store is located in the Northern Hemisphere (the one with the frozen ocean over the pole). We are on the smaller of the two large land masses, known as North America. Affect a terrestial landing on that mass, and then consult a humanoid for directions to New York City. Then follow the sailing directions above.
